USA Football has named ANTHONY BIELLO, president of Katy Youth Football (Texas), to its newly established Commissioner Advisory Committee to advance important standards rooted in education for America’s youth football community. Biello is one of eight youth football league commissioners from eight states who will unite to examine regional trends for the football community and collaborate with other USA Football committees, national governing bodies and medical organizations to determine best practices and recommendations for youth and high school player education and safety. USA Football’s Commissioner Advisory Committee will guide the organization’s continued development of educational resources and player safety initiatives, includingUSA Football’s Heads Up FootballSM program, an accredited coach education program that has certified more than 110,000 coaches, and a national background check initiative with the National Center for Safety Initiatives. “Nothing comes before the health and safety of our young athletes, and this committee enables us to advance this for children in all 50 states who love to play football and gain the fitness and social benefits of playing an exciting team sport,” Biello said. “USA Football programs are raising standards in how coaches are prepared to teach and how player safety is addressed by coaches, players and parents.” One of the largest youth football leagues in Texas, Katy Youth Football is composed of 70 teams, 350 coaches and 1,600 players. Also a certified Heads Up FootballSM Player Safety Coach, Biello’s program provides quality youth football programs to children within a sound, structured environment that focuses on safety and promotes sportsmanship. “Our Commissioner Advisory Committee members are as diverse and dynamic as the communities they serve,” USA Football Executive Director SCOTT HALLENBECK said. “Anthony’s knowledge will bring even greater innovation to our work for the sake of the children who love to play this game as well as the dedicated youth leagues that are committed to USA Football’s standards.” USA Football’s Commissioner Advisory Committee:
