KYF® 2017  – 38th Annual Opening Ceremonies

“Let’s Get It Started”

Presented by Republican State Representative: JOHN ZERWAS

When: Saturday – August 12, 2017

Where: Rhodes Stadium

Time: 2pm – 9:30pm

Please join us for our 2017 Opening Ceremonies!   Come out for a fun filled afternoon and evening of Football! We have a free tailgating event taking place in the Rhodes Stadium East Lot from 2:15pm – 5:45pm with live music – featuring Live Bands and the School of Rock house band, multiple food vendors, moonwalks and other kid friendly games and activities.  This will be a fun filled event for the entire family. All KYF® Teams will be introduced and get to run across the field with their coaches.   The evening will culminate with a Senior Varsity Game at 7:30pm.


Timeline of Events:

1:30-2:15pm            Motorhome / VIP Arrival (Pre-Registration Required)

2:00-4:00pm           General Arrival / Parking

2:15pm                   Tailgate Area Open To Public


2:30-5:30pm           Live Band Performances – Multiple Food Vendors, Moon walks, etc.

5:45pm                  Meet at the Field House in Reverse Alpha Order (Teams Z-A)

Football Teams on West Side Entrance – Cheer Squads on East

Parents – Make way from tailgate area to West Side Parking Lot Entrance

6:00pm                   KYF® Players/Coaches enter stadium and gather on West Sideline

Arrival Instructions

  • Park in the West stadium lot (Katyland side) – Please come early for tailgating – Fun time for everyone!
  • Each team & cheer squad will receive one support vehicle window sticker (FREE) permitting one free vehicle into the tailgate area.  Cost for additional vehicles is $5 per vehicle.  Up to THREE vehicles per team or squad will be permitted.  Vehicle placards may be purchased in advance or at the gate for $5.00.  All vehicles must enter the Stadium from the West Entrance (Katyland side) by Raines High School.
  • VIP Spaces (20feet x 50feet) (limited quantity) will be available for $50 each, and includes up to ONE Motorhome per space Free.
  • Motorhomes will be allowed, but MUST Preregister.   No travel trailers. Motorhomes only.  Cost for Motorhomes, parked in non VIP Area, is $20
  • Motorhomes and VIP Space Holders must arrive early for load in between 1:30pm – 2:15pm
  • Standard team support vehicles will be permitted to enter the tailgate area starting at 2:15pm
  • Parents/players/cheerleaders to meet their coaches in the tailgating area – East side of the Stadium. No access to Stadium or Field House before 6pm – Except as approved.
  • Coaches will gather teams in designated area noted above at 5:45pm and hold until time to enter the stadium
  • Stadium opens at 6:00pm:


    • Parents proceed to stands – Use West Public Entrance (No Parents Permitted on Field!)
      • Please walk past field house back into West Stadium Lot (Katyland Side) and enter stadium via PUBLIC entrance from the West Stadium Lot
    • Cheerleaders and Cheer Coaches proceed to East sideline
    • Football Players and Coaches proceed to West Sideline
    • SV Teams (Broncos and Texans) – warm-up on field (South End Zone)
