KYF 2021 Winter Classic Coaches Information

If you are reading this it means you are confirmed in our 2021 Winter Classic Tournament.  Congratulations and good luck to each of you!  Please read the information below very carefully to ensure a smooth experience.

NOTE: FULL LEATHER BALLS ONLY – Team A (the offense) is required to furnish the ball for each kickoff and each offensive series.  Balls are inspected and approved by the game officials.

OUTSIDE FOOD: The Restriction on outside food applies to all games Saturday and Sunday on KISD Property.  For Saturday and Sunday games at Morton Ranch High School – The Onsite School Concession Stand will be open throughout the weekend. NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINKS (With the exception of water/Gatorade for the players) WILL BE ALLOWED ON PROPERTY – This is Per Katy ISD.

Saturday Games (Morton Ranch High School):

Games on Saturday (12/18) will start at ~9am (Check-in starts at 8:00am for 9am games, and 8:30am for 10am games).  Saturday games could run into the night under the lights if delays are encountered due to weather.

Your check-in time is 90 minutes prior to your scheduled game start time.  Player check in will take place at the KYF® Board Tent – Which is located near Fields 1-3 on the linked map above.

If you are traveling from out of town, it’s recommended you arrive Friday Night.  If you need hotel arrangements, please contact SpringHill Suites Katy, by Katy Mills Mall.  They are offering $94 per night two room suites, with no room or occupancy restrictions, and free breakfast for all.

Admission:  (Games played on the KISD Morton Ranch High School Maverick Stadium Field requires spectator admission cost)

Saturday – Morton Ranch High School:  There is no cost for admission to the standard grass fields.  Cost for admission to MRHS Maverick Stadium (Turf) is $5 per adult.  Children under 18 will be admitted free.  Cost is per day, not per game.  KYF® Issued Wrist Bands must be worn for re-admission to the Stadium throughout the day.

Sunday Morton Ranch High School Maverick Stadium (Turf) – Cost for admission is $10 per person.  Children 5 & Under will be admitted free.  Cost is per day, not per game.  KYF® Issued Special Wrist Band must be worn for re-admission to the stadium throughout the day.

IMPORTANT:  Please make sure you complete the Specific KYF® Roster Form within this packet and bring all forms for inspection during check-in.  This roster form can be typed or printed but must be legible.  If you are unable to edit the form, simply handwrite the roster, sign, and submit.  We MUST receive the complete roster form in hand during check-in.  Please make sure you list all coaches on the roster – Head Coach, Assistant Coaches and all players.

We also need the Acceptance of Rules form signed by the Head Coach and notarized, in addition to the completed waiver for the head coach and assistant coaches.  Please submit these forms along with your roster at Check-in.

The Player Certification Form must be completed by a parent/legal guardian for every player, signed with a picture included.  Each Player Cert Form must have an attached copy of an official Birth Certificate and a signed waiver form by the parent/legal guardian for every player.  A state ID or US Passport will substitute for a birth certificate. (KYF® Will retain all waiver forms, so keep them separate).  Put certification forms together into an Eligibility Book, as described below, and present at Check-in for player verification.

Please note there are several Action Items you as Head Coach are responsible for.

1 – Please Read all information, including the Rules & Code of Conduct.  Please ensure you, all assistant coaches and parents are familiar with the playing rules and guidelines.

2 – Please complete the COMPLETE ROSTER sheet and submit back to KYF® THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE – ROSTER MUST BE SUBMITTED DURING CHECK-IN.

3 – Please Complete, Sign & have Notarized the ACCEPTANCE OF KYF® WINTER CLASSIC TOURNAMENT RULES & GUIDELINES & submit during Check-In – ABSOLUTE!

4 – Please Complete and sign the KYF® RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY, and have all Assistant coaches do the same and submit during Check-In – ABSOLUTE!

5 – Please send the PLAYER CERTIFICATION FORM & RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY to all Parents.  Each parent must complete both forms for each player.  You are responsible for collecting each form (Certification Form and Waiver) for all players, as well as a copy of each Players’ Birth Certificate, State ID, or US Passport.  Please place the Certification form, including Player Picture, Waiver Form, and Birth Certificate/State ID/Passport into a binder “Eligibility Book”, in Alphabetical Order by Player Last Name.   Please bring your Eligibility book to check-in before each game so all players can be verified.   These forms do not need to be sent in advance, but MUST be on your person for check-in at the tournament.  IF ANY PLAYER IS MISSING A COMPLETED CERTIFICATION FORM, WAIVER or BIRTH CERTIFICATE – THEY WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO PLAY!

Check-In Process:

Please arrive 90 minutes prior to your first game.  Please have all forms separated and ready.  You will need to submit Items 2 thru 5 to KYF®.  Please have your complete roster, signed and notarized Acceptance Form, as well as a completed and signed Waiver form for every coach and player separated from your eligibility book.  These items will be retained by KYF.  Please have them ready to go for a smooth check-in.  You should retain all copies of the Player Certification Forms and Birth Certificates within your eligibility book and keep them with you at all times throughout the tournament weekend.  KYF® will inspect your certification forms upon arrival and may perform additional inspections at any time throughout the tournament weekend.  To make the process smooth, please separate the forms that will be submitted and retained by KYF®, and have your complete roster and all Player Certification Forms with Birth Certificates in Alphabetical Order, players lined up in Alphabetical order by LAST NAME.
